  • Claude, exactly what you like me to expand, or clarify ? T&T has two major cultures, the Indo-Trinis, and Afro-trinis. When blended, we have a Trinidad Culture . Claude, what does TRINI TO D BONE, means to you ?

    • I got your point, Dorrick! I going and send ah email to  David Rudder and ask him what TRINI TO D BONE mean! Stay posting, man!!!

      • It means you born here. yuh navel string buried here and hopefully you will die here.

Why do people who have never even been to India or Africa even have any allegiance to those countries.

If I were Indian descended I would be first to disconnect myself from a culture that insists that you cannot even touch a person darker than you. Where girls are raped as punishment for their brother marrying someone of a lesser 'caste'.

Who would want to be aligned or connected to that culture?

I am so mixed I cannot even find my roots if I looked all year for them. Even my grandparents were mixed and fortunately with the indigenous peoples of the Caribbean.

That is Trini to the bone

        • I don't have a problem aligning myself to any culture. Girls are raped in T&T too. High mentality & maturity takes care of the minutiae
          • Patrick: One day you will wake up and realize that this is a PNM, Afro-Centric dominated forum. Whey yuh glasses, boy?

  • Here’s my concern, like everyone who starts a new job, you on a probationary period.

Based on the performances from the ministers of the previous administrations, managing Pan Trinbago was a test for their survival, the threats to get them in line, spend within your budget was left to deaf ears at PT, they still came up short and they bargain to their advantage.

Do you really believe this minister could “crack-wip” on Diaz and his boys and keep them in LINE?

    • She doesn't have to 'crack whip' just withhold funding.

      • I'm hoping she can be like St. Joan of Arts, but in these times its a different reality.

    • ODW: You just summarized the crux of the topic. The little sidebars with the politics and the resumes tend to get in the way sometimes. But this discussion is about whether this minister could "crack-wip" on Diaz and Pan Trinbago.

I can say with ABSOLUTE CONVICTION that Diaz is not going to be MANAGED by NO WOMAN!!!

  • That's exactly my point Lillian. In NY there is the Italian, the Mexican, the Chinese, The Jamaican, The Trinis, Bajan, etc. Each group celebrates its special days, without help from the Gov't. The Indians celebrate Pagwah in a big way in Richmond Hill. However, when they become US citizens, they are Americans, even though they still celebrate their special occasions. Trinidad is a small country, can we afford to have every ethnic, or cultural group celebrate their special occasions, with financial help from the Gov't. Sat Maharaj already complains that calypso, and steel band get more than Diwali. We are Trinidadians, our culture consist of steel band, and Calypso.  Oh, by the way, what is the American culture ?
