New York panorama and arrangers

My question is with the amount of arrangers based in New York or the states  why is it bands are bringing big arrangers to do the music for them is it worth the money to put out to fly them in even if you win are dont win. I credit despers for going local and giving some one from the band a chance to lead them. I have seen a number of bands have people that arrangers, I use to see mark with sonatas and I would think they would have given him a shot to do the music for them, also a number of bands once the band no longer exsist thats it for the arranger, patrick had a good run, franklin gerald and the other and their is a few more.

  • Steelbands always think that the big name recognition will help them win, and more than likely  that's the way these Judges really think,

    • Yea pelham and flyers didnt have a good run he was better with marsicans also jit and flyers also

  • patrick ramdoo, if NY ban outside arrangers T&T might do the same and that will be the end of foreign arrangers involvement in the Mecca. It's the dream of all arrangers to work with a band in the Mecca. That's a no win situation, there are too many arrangers and not enough bands

  • Everybody want to win, if you look it's not too ban in NY, only 4 outside arrangers.

    • New York should ban outside arrangers. The talent pool is heavy. Besides, judges tend to go with name brand arrangers as opposed to good arrangements.
      • I wont say band them cause then some local arrangers wont get a chance to go out, but I tend to see more bands looking outside for arrangers rather than local
