Nothing can really beat a good pan show in good old T&T. And last night was no different.

It culminated with the crowning of Uptown Fascinators that gave a polished performance of Dollar Wine (Colin Lucas), arranged by Ojay Richards.
Richards enjoyed his wining and winning performance as did his players!

Several high profile personalities made their presence felt at various times during the show, starting with Minister Penelope Beckles and her support for Arima Golden Symphony.
The band woke up the small but very appreciative crowd with a fantastic rendition of This melody Sweet (Baron), arranged by Terrence BJ Marcelle.
A couple bands later, it was Soca star Machel Montano and Minister Stuart Young who waved flags for St. Margaret’s Super Stars that played Too young Soca by MM himself.
Later, T&TEC New Eastside Dimension brought out calypso bards Baron (Timothy Watkins) and Sugar Aloes (Michael Osouna) during its performance of the latter’s I Love Being Me.
The band's delivery of the song was superb!
All the bands’ presentations were another talking point, as bands tried portraying what they were playing as far as possible. But by far, second placed TT Defence Force Steel Orchestra took the cake.
Arranger Duvone Stewart, dressed as an Arab, was driven on stage in an open air army land rover, and as the lights went up, adorning the pans were pictures of the Sahara dry lands and camels, with one camel to the front centre of the band.
Then several times during the performance, dust raised simultaneously as the pans were made to sound like it. The crowd loved it.
Really, every band entertained, hence the night was so well enjoyed. Here are some highlights.
