  • This is the first of this Panorama and it looks like it will be pretty successful, the next time around [if there is a next time] more attention could be given as to who compeat.  This will put ah??????????????? over BSO.

    • Define success for this Panorama Cecil.  What are your expectations to call this a success?

      bugs

      • bugs, so far all foreign bands are in T&T and ready to go, if the rain permit the show to happen that alone is success for me. From what I am hearing it looks like all the events were successful.

  • I agree.

After Trinidad and Tobago , Antigua should have been the first country included to validate an International panorama.

    • Glen..ha you can imagine how I feel ..have been beating this issue time and again....  long before our Panorama and ever since...this year panorama was the most competitive in decades all bands came out kicking.....results speaks  264, 265, 266 points..3rd/2nd/1st....debate how you wish it was an epic battle....where Hells Gate...came to the top. I was doing radio commentary and had a chance to interview all the arrangers and and Captains and they were up beat.Last years winner, failing to place this year, were tipped to be the representative...I don't know what Happened, did hear from one of the players that there were some logistical difficulties, what ever that means, haven't heard a peep from the dormant Association or  our Festival committee. People here are so passive..this should have been a big issue..media coverage almost non existent ..AH doh no what to say///fuming and bewildered.

  • Cecil, I ain't know bout Antigua but Grenada have a few good bands, Angel harps, commacheros, very good. I remember in the World steelband music festival at Madison garden a band from Grenada played (I think) Poet and peasant, it was something else.

It was not easy to find a proper date to accommodate all the bands over the world because some band have their own competition, I just hope next time the date can switch around to fit in with other bands.

    • Well, I know about Antigua ... second only to TRINIDAD in PAN.

      • I agree with you Claude. It would have been great to have a band from Antigua.

  • I said in a post yesterday that I did not see how they could leave ANTIGUA OUT given the historical role that country played in the GLOBALIZATION of PAN. I sure would have liked to hear how they sounded against these other bands.

  • bugs, for sure it's not the best of the best.
