Newsday March 1st, 2019

HUNDREDS of masqueraders will be left with long faces as Republic Bank Exodus will not be a part of Carnival celebrations in Carnival City, downtown Port of Spain.

The band has always been an integral part of the Carnival Tuesday Parade of Bands with its sailor mas. The 2019 portrayal is titled No Boarders [huh? Boarders?] around the World. But for the first time in 37 years, the St Augustine steelband will not be in the city.

  • The same way Sando Mayor fought for his band when they were discriminated against, I expected the PT president to do the same. But she has more important things to deal with. Like reading the Forensic Audit Report.

  • I'm a bit confused. Was that a decision of the band or was it a declaration from Pan Trinbago? Any way you look at it, I would say it is a shame for the national instrument to be left out.

    • Dear Martin: By now, people who read THIS FORUM regularly should know that I always take shots at BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE at every turn because I still feel that she is the wrong person to be leading PAN TRINBAGO at this time.

But unless INSPECTOR GOSINE got specific instructions from BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE and is in on a CONSPIRACY with him -- PAN TRINBAGO and BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE had NOTHING to do with this truck failing the inspection.

It was strictly a decision made by the TRANSPORT DIVISION upholding the VEHICLES INSPECTIONS CODES of the land.

So we cannot blame BEVERLEY and PAN TRINBAGO for THIS ONE. Now, whether she working OBEAH on EXODUS or not -- that is still a possibility ... here I go again!!!

      • Good on you Bro... Stick to your principles...Got it

  • The National instrument of the US and Japan. How yuh go do we dat?

  • The carnival organization needs to be re-evaluated .  The writing has been on the wall for a long time now and statistics show a decline in valuable day to day membership  leaders. Those in positions now are not the cream of the crop needed to move the organization to a success.  It is possible that Exodus realizes spinning top in mud is  demoralizing their efforts of a chance to win.

I hope their decision is the  catalyst needed to move other bands to get off the pot.

  • If that’s the case it should have been told about this new rules last year giving all of the bands suffice time to come up to par .

This should not have been told a couple of days prior carnival Monday. Again the committee is making decisions ass backwards.

This is what I call REVENGE, PAYBACK from the PAN TRINBAGO committees.

  • Things that make you go hmmmmm!!!
