Soca fans will have to wait till Carnival Saturday night to learn the identity of the 2016 Soca Monarch. Fans will also not see the show broadcast live on Carnival Friday (Fantastic Friday) as has been customary.
This was confirmed yesterday by Caribbean Prestige Foundation chairman Peter Scoon.
“An edited, well-packaged show will be shown on Saturday night on CNC3 and on pay-per-view. And only then will you know the winner. Until then it will be kept sealed and confidential, but it’s going to be well worth the wait,” Scoon said.
Scoon was speaking to the Express during the preliminary round of the International Soca Monarch competition, held in the NLCB private booth at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain.
