River Oaks Middle School students from North Charleston, South Carolina entertained Walt Disney World Resort guests from across the nation and around the world with their performances on May 26 at Disney Springs.
Members of the River Oaks Middle School "Bobcat Singers," the "Bobcat" Steel Band, Advanced Dance, and Honor Band groups put on a dynamic series of shows that featured a mix of folk tunes and traditional songs.
During their three-day stay, the River Oaks students also enjoyed time in Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.
The 112 performing students in grades 6-8 traveled nearly 400 miles from South Carolina to Florida to participate in the popular Disney Performing Arts program. This was the school’s third visit to Walt Disney World Resort.
Vocal, instrumental and dance ensembles from all around the world apply to perform each year as part of Disney Performing Arts at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Once selected, they are given the opportunity to perform at Disney amongst an international audience of theme park guests. Millions of performers have graced the stages of Disney Parks since the Disney Performing Arts program was launched more than 25 years ago.
