Pan music lovers have the option of reliving the Pan in the 21st Century 2009 Finals through the Limited Edition CD. Recorded “live” at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, Trinidad, by KMP Music Lab, the new CD contains 12 tracks and 72 minutes of popular music played by some of the country’s competitive Conventional steel orchestras. The combination of tunes gives listeners that nostalgic feeling at the same time highlighting the versatility of the pan to play all genres of music. From the winning selection of “Georgia On My Mind” played by TCL Group Skiffle Bunch to Silver Star’s arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody” to Gloria Estefan’s “Conga” as rendered by Tropical Angel Harps, leaves the listeners wanting to hear more. Other tracks are Katzenjammers’ “To Love You More”, Our Boys’ “Closer”, Solo Pan Knights’ “ Rise”, Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille’s “Can We Talk’, Harmonites’ “ Love Theme From St. Elmo’s Fire”, NLCB Fonclaire’s “Shame”, Pamberi’s “ Can’t Be My Lover”, Curepe Scherzando’s “Theme From Love Story” and Parry’s Pan School’s “Fantasy”. “Pan in the 21st Century 2009” is a Pan Trinbago production in collaboration with The Ministry of Community Development, Culture & Gender Affairs and TSTT.
