A dedicated Pan Lover, Steelband Leader, Seasoned Professional with extensive experience in Corporate Governance and Executive Management. Proven track record as a successful negotiator and Business Consultant.
Manager of Highlanders Steel Orchestra and current Secretary of the Northern Region Pan Trinbago. Served two terms as Chairman of the School Board at Success Laventille Secondary School. Member of the Leadership Team that facilitated an Educational and Cultural Exchange Programme with Cuba, taking the School’s Steel Orchestra on a 10 day trip to Cuba.
Facilitated with the Unit Trust Corporation to train Northern Region’s member bands in Financial Management for Steel Bands, and with the St. John Ambulance Brigade for training in First Aid and CPR. Coordinated with the T&T Defence Force in conducting the largest Annual Food Drive, and provided three (3) Hamper Distributions to Northern Region member bands during the ongoing Pandemic.
Successfully negotiated a ninety nine (99) year lease with NP for Highlanders Steel Orchestra to acquire a Pan Yard Home on the Eastern Main Road in Success Village, Laventille. Following this, another successful negotiation resulted in Highlanders getting approval from the East Port of Spain Development Company to construct a modern Pan Theatre and Home Work/After School Centre in the newly acquired Pan Yard. Construction is currently underway and the facility is near completion. Under its current management and leadership, Highlanders was a finalist in the recent 2020 National Panorama Competition, placing 6th in the Small Band Category.

Born and raised in Success Village, Laventille, his early education was at the Ideal High School in Belmont before migrating to the US. Further studies included obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Management at City University of New York, and a MBA Degree in General Management at Dowling College, Long Island, New York. Additional studies included a Diploma in Executive Leadership at Duke University, Richmond, Virginia.
Professional working experience included working as a Senior Operations Manager for the United States Postal Service, responsible for the administration of Postal Services for fifty five (55) Postal Districts. Upon returning to Trinidad, served as the General Manager Operations and Managing Director (ag.) at the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation.
Demonstrated experience in leading effective teams by working with a cross section of senior Government Officials and members of the Corporate Sector in developing a Postal Code and an internationally accepted Addressing Standard for Trinidad and Tobago. This project was approved by the Government and is currently being rolled out nationwide.
It is recognized that the following issues are of major concern to our membership, and will be given top priority and addressed in the next term of office:
- Constitutional Reform
- Comprehensive review of the finances of Pan Trinbago
- Pan Yard Development and Legitimization of Tenure
- A Headquarters Complex for Pan Trinbago
- Equitable Financial assistance to unsponsored steelbands and pan players
- Initiative to secure Corporate Sponsorship for Steelbands
- Development Training in Steel Band Operations and Management (A business model)
- Regaining stakeholder confidence in Pan Trinbago
- Continue working with UWI & UTT in further developing technological improvements within the Steel Pan Industry
- Pursue organizational development by removing barriers, building bridges and achieving National Unity.

Word on the ground is that STEELBANDS and DELEGATES are responding very favourably to this candidate. And they are especially impressed by his Curriculum Vitae. MR. ROBERT HERNANDEZ is cutting into the lead of the current president BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE and is very likely to win MORE VOTES in the NORTH than her.
If I had to bet right now I would say that MR. ROBERT HERNANDEZ is on his way to VICTORY and becoming THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF PAN TRINBAGO -- as long as BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE is honest enough HOLD THE ELECTIONS and NOT POSTPONE IT!!!

The pan yard which our sitting secretary of PanTrinbago, the honourable Denise Hernandez, belongs to. They gather to talk lies about Beverly Ramsey Moore, our president (queen of pan). Hernandez is a puppet for Carlon Harewood, Dane Gulston and Gerard Mendez, all of whom are reported by our president to be involved in some sort of extortion and pilfering from the membership moneys. Desiree Meyers, Chairwoman, drop them like a hot potato, and their latest addition is Morris, the drunk of the north zone and Martin Caine, failed Desperadoes captain. Martin Caine is known to be Carlon Harewood's partner in crime. The whole pan movement knows about the Carlon and Martin Caine history from NSO, and what happened with Caine on the cruse ship he worked on, all of which would be properly exposed closer to the election. We are not worried at all by that group of mercenaries. I would say nothing about Duvon Stewart's involvement at this time, but would say to him, it is time to return home. Tobagonians are people of integrity and we know who to associate with.

Dexter "Tac Tac" Simon, Carlon's colleague at the national steel band, on his death bead in 2005, when he could hardly pronounce words because of his weakened condition, said, "Mamba, oh gord boy, yuh going back Africa and leave Tac boy? Carlon an dem (whoever Dem is or are) did fuck up Tac Tac's salary.
I jumped on a plane an went back to Africa. Dexter "Tac Tac" Simon died the following day.
