Pan Moving Forward will defend your right to vote. Elections must be held.

Pan Trinbago’s executive’s weak, laughable, pathetic, inconceivable and selfish attempt at retaining power by postponing this election would not work. This executive continues to be an embarrassment to the movement and their time is up. Call the election!

It is regrettable when pan loses because central executive members put themself before bands. The letter which was sent to the members of Pan Trinbago regarding their decision to not hold our election is just another display of the executive’s incompetence and an indication of their fears of facing the polls.

Pan Moving Forward wants to reassure our brothers and sisters in the steel band movement that we will be working on your behalf to ensure that, at its least, we all will be allowed to exercise our constitutional right to vote. Despite the long overdue amendments to the constitution which were promised and never fulfilled by this executive, it is still the contract that binds our organization together. It is what governs us, therefore, it is an absolute disgrace that  people who we elected to protect, uphold and ensure its integrity remains intact, are the people who repeatedly breach it.

The members of Pan Trinbago have all felt the weight of the incompetence of this broken, failed executive. Most of us did not take to public forums to express our displeasure because we were awaiting the opportunity to express it at the polls. To deny the membership that opportunity for the next three years is untenable. Unless our president, her executive, her lawyer and her blind supporters are living under a rock, then they all have to be aware that safe and efficient Elections/Conventions and Annual General Meetings are being kept locally and internationally. Why after eighteen months of doing nothing but blaming Covid for your inability to perform you could not even do a little research on how others are holding elections during the pandemic?

Madam president, you and your team reek of fear. The membership is ready to relieve you all from purposelessly occupying office. Do yourselves a favour and call the election and ride out into the sunset with whatever little integrity you have left.

No silence in the constitution here.

ARTICLE 10 ELECTIONS
