Dr. Leroy Calliste , the calypsonian known as The Black Stalin has been an advocate and supporter of the steelband for decades.
Now he is ailing , and needs an assist , so I think it's only right that we should "Play One for The Black Stalin" , while he's still with us.

"In an effort to help, Dr Leroy Calliste, Calypsonian Black Stalin, who is still recovering from a stroke which he suffered last September, this CD "Black Stalin Live" will be re released with all proceeds going to his family.
The Collectors edition was produced and first released in 2007 and all copies were sold out.
It's even more special as Dr. Roy Cape and the All Stars backed Stalin on this project. Stalin refers to the CD as his "best works.”
Funds raised in this re-release will go directly to Dr Calliste as agreed by everyone involved in the project including Roy Cape, Elton Benjamin, and executive producers Eric St. Bernard and Sherrie Ann De Leon."
My friends , this is an outstanding live calypso album.
Black Stalin, is at his best , and performs some of the most memorable hits from his extensive calypso repertoire.
This great calypsonian is so prolific , that as he admits , it was impossible to cover all his hits in one concert, but many of them are included in this fabulous live performance.
Kudos to the Roy Cape Band which provides some of the best backup calypso music you'll ever hear ,and for reminding us of the beauty of true kaiso music.
As one who's followed Dr. Leroy Calliste throughout his career , I can say that this is an accumulation of some of his best work.
Quite apart from any altruistic motives , this album should be a must have for any fan or collector of calypso music.
I urge you all to try to get a copy when it becomes available.
