Winston Bailey, the Mighty Shadow, was one of the most relevant masters of his craft – composing and singing calyposes.

His genius permeated the soul of philosophical in cooperation with an ordinariness that catches your imagination.

Every calypso Winston Bailey did spoke to either the beauty of life or the sadness of life or a state of poverty.

Shadow was the ultimate philosopher whose offerings will be sorely missed.

On behalf of Pan Trinbago, we extend condolences to the family of Winston Bailey and more than that seek to encourage his family to nurture the legacy he has left behind.

We look back at the many tunes played by our steelbands – “Memories”, “Stranger”, “I Come Out to Play”, “Bassman”, “Yuh Looking for Horn”, “Whap Cocoyea” and “Dingolay”.

We at Pan Trinbago join with the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians Organization (TUCO) in remembering his life and mourning his passing.
