Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Pan Trinbago Inc. heralds the start of Pan Month 2013 with an Interfaith Church Service and Procession in Port-of-Spain; it is the 21st edition of Pan Trinbago’s Pan Month. The Evangelical Service will be held at the St. Joseph’s Convent Chapel, Abercromby Street, on Sunday August 4 at 11:00 a.m. Members of the Inter Religious Organization will officiate with the homily delivered by Fr. Clyde Harvey. At the service, there will be the blessing of the Flags of the Steel Orchestras; the public is invited.
It was on August 30, 1992 that the steelpan was declared the National Musical Instrument of Trinidad & Tobago and in keeping with this edict, Pan Trinbago recognizes the occasion annually with a number of events with the steelpan as the main focus.

Pan don't need a month, what they need is one day for carnival to partake of the dollars that the season generate.
What is needed is a change in attitude to the way leaders and the people see the steelband in T&T.

I remember when Mr. Withfield Weekes (I am not sure if he is still there) introduce a healty life style seminer some time ago. ...what a shame...Are there any steelpan activity involving and of the South bands in and around San Fernando bands ? What about Tobago, like all yuh "spit" on Tobago for Steelband Month?.See an upcoming concert with Skiffle Bunch ..but there is NAPA in South too "What is the name again?" Southern Academey for the Performing Arts (SAPA). Every activity mentioned there is beyond the Caroni River..Come on you all can do better than that...Thanks
