“We embrace the North Park!” Pan Trinbago president Beverly Ramsey-Moore declared yesterday as she addressed the launch of Panorama 2019 at BP Renegades Pan Theatre, Charlotte Street, Port of Spain.

“We look forward to that great show, that great show in the North Park,” an upbeat Ramsey-Moore told pan lovers.

She said although the organisation has had its “challenges” with the decision of National Carnival Commission (NCC) chairman Winston “Gypsy” Peters to do away with the North Stand, Pan Trinbago now had a dynamic team that has been working alongside the organisation to ensure its interests were secured. They are vice-president Carlan Harewood and ace pannist Dane Gulston.

  • What does the NCC want?

Pan Trinbago mishandled the Greens concept with criminal levels of tone-deaf ineptitude. After two successful events, The Greens became a wasteland, only surpassed by the organization’s coffers.

    What do we want?

People have been voting with their dollars and that cash hasn’t been going to the institutional Carnival industry.

There, half-hearted demands by the State for accountability for the spending of the public purse on Carnival are only a part of the lack of hard data available on the multi-billion dollar investment in Carnival that successive governments have squandered on the Carnival industry.

A Joint Select Committee reviewing any other government investment on this scale with an equivalent lack of supporting data would probably be in line for forensic auditing at the very least and would probably be immediately referred to the DPP’s office.

    • In this day and age.  It hurts to read and hear about the difficulties Pan Trinbago is going through. Wishing and praying for success for Pan Trinbao and all the people it affects.

  • Does anyone know what the North Park replacement for the North Stand set will be like?  Where can you get semi-finals   tickets for the North Park  and  finals for the Grand Stand?. Appreciate any feed back on this. thank you

    • Unfortunately, this is an EXPERIMENT by the NCC.  Nothing on their website offers guidance on how visitors can navigate themselves through this new arrangement, the photo-op is all you need to assure yuh safe, things does happen juss soo.

      • Thank you. What happens if rains falls? Ok, hopefully it will be a sunny day. We will be there to experience this new venue.  We will sure miss the North Stand atmosphere.

        • I expected almost all in the carnival network(calypso, mas, pan, sponsers and fans) to protest, no one did, so the people want it that way.
