PAN TRINBAGO is appealing to the Government to pay the rest of their allocation so they can pay their members
At a news conference yesterday, at Pan Trinbago’s head office, Park Street, Port-of-Spain, Pan Trinbago President Keith Diaz said this year, Government approved $30 million for the organisation for Carnival but they only received $25 million
As a result, this has prevented them from paying the players their $1000 performance fee

Assuming that the gov't still owes Pan Trinbago $5 million of the promised $30 million, Why can't Pan Trinbago use its own funds to pay pan players? Where are the profits from the Greens, the ICP and other Pan Trinbago ventures?? Why can't some of that be allocated to paying pan players until the gov't fulfills it's promise??
Because PAN TRINBAGO is currently operating in the RED. They borrow money during the year and then pay it back when the government gives them XX million for the next PANORAMA.
What bothers me about this forum is that the posters keep referencing PAN TRINBAGO as some sort of honorable organization with a leadership focused on PROGRESS FOR PAN -- far from the truth -- It reality is all about individual power and personal financial gain.

Bugs, where would band leaders get 100,000 to 120,000 to pay pan players before they go on stage and you have the majority financially strapped, with many unsponsored and whatever little funding they have is to carry the band to panorama. Arranger to pay, tuner to pay,etc. Payment to players can only be made when Pantrinbago gets the money to pay bands to pay the players. I agree that players could have been paid from the 25 million, when you check the number of players by $ 1,000.00 I believe there are areas where cut backs could have taken place to accommodate this.
Gerard, this shows why steelbands has to unite to deal with PanTrinbago, those that you voted for should seek your best interest not exploit you.
Cecil: You think KEITH DIAZ is seeking anybody's best interest other than his own? In the 10 years after Bill Clinton left office, he made ONE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS giving speeches and collecting on favors he did whilst in office. I think that Obama is going to make TWO HUNDRED MILLION in the ten years after he leaves office. And what are the Black people who voted for him going to get in that 10 years? How is it every year everybody gets paid before the performers who are the pan people? Pan Trinbago got 25 million and the players still haven't been paid.
At some point the pan players have to face the facts. They the pan players are Stupid!
Time for the pan players to hold their band leader accountable. Band leaders must hand players their checks as they they come on to the stage before the performance.
Pan Trinbago and the band leaders have no creditability.
