Panist Noel La Pierre receives Shanghai festival top award

Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Steelpan soloist extraordinaire, Noel La Pierre, received the Best Participating Award 2011 at the 13^th Shanghai Arts Festival held on October 16-19. The festival is hosted by the Ministry of Culture of China and Shanghai Performing Arts Festival committee (SPAF). The festival is an international performing exhibition, which has become the largest and the most fruitful international performance fair held in China.

....The festival featured over 50 international stage performances, art exhibitions and dignitary representatives from various festival committees from Edinburgh, Russia, Lithuania, Hong Kong, Singapore, USA, Canada and more. La Pierre was able to conduct an intense three-day training and development workshop in the art of playing the steelpan with The Federation of Art and Literary Circles, a local Chinese retiree steelpan group.

I am proud to say that Noel La Pierre from a child,i saw him grow and know his love for the PAN,we are from the same village and i am so proud to keep on hearing about his achievements,,,,,,,,,there is no stopping him stay blessed " NoNo".
