Pan Trinbago president Beverly Ramsey-Moore says the issue of steelbands changing their tunes of choice ahead of Panorama will be put to vote by its membership.

"Going forward to Carnival 2020, because of the seriousness of the issue, members will be allowed to vote on the matter," she told Sunday Newsday.

"If a band is allowed to play more than one tune for Panorama, even after they have selected their first song, because of the controversy, then we will take it to the membership."

  • I hold the opinion that this change tune issue could turn out to be a recipe for confusion if for instance bands start of with a tune of choice for the prelims and decide to change tunes for the semis and then change for the finals, what  will happen?

  • MISLEADING HEADLINE!!!

BEVERLEY RAMSEY-MOORE is a MAXIMUM LEADER -- PANNISTS have NO VOICE. They don't even GET PAID for their PANORAMA PERFORMANCES!!!

They will NEVER be allowed to VOTE ON THIS ISSUE!!!

    • No support for cut in pan prize money

SAN Fernando Mayor Junia Regrello does not support the suggestion by captain of San City Steel Orchestra Aquil Arrindell to cut Panorama prize money so players could receive a stipend.

Arrindell’s suggestion was contained in a letter to Pan Trinbago president Beverly Ramsey-Moore, who has said no stipend will be paid to players participating in the 2019 and 2020 competitions. She gave as a reason a $10 million cut in the government allocation.

Arrindell, speaking on behalf of the 75 players in his medium band from San Fernando. said they are still owed their 2018 stipend.
