Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Minister of Community Development, Arts and Culture told Loop that while she is sure the annual pan event will be on she does not expect the Greens to return.
The Greens, she said, has been Pan Trinbago's private event.
“I would not expect that Pan Trinbago has what it takes to put on the Greens, I don’t expect it would happen,” she said.
The National Carnival Commission (NCC) in conjunction with Pan Trinbago will execute Panorama 2017.
The Minister said NCC will take responsibility for all finances associated with the event including gate receipts.
This action follows the pan body’s inability to pay its players though the Minister said they were given monies to pay pannists for Panorama 2016.

See what I tell you bugs!!! She could have avoided all that BACCHANAL by just funding the account. They spend ONE HUNDRED MILLION a year supporting PAN TRINBAGO (their voting bloc) so why not bite the bullet and put up the extra 3 to 5 million and get all the PAN MEN paid and then hit all the false check PAN GHOSTS with some SUMMONS to appear in court.
Of course some people on this forum who always talking about court and suing and jail will never realize that PNM DOES NOT LOCK UP PNM. So that is NEVER AN OPTION!
Thank you Dr Dolly and the governmnet for finally realizing that the State cannot just be putting out millions of dollars each year to Pan Trinbago and with little oversight. However, governments in the past have been callous about this. Hoping that this is the last year where things have gotten out of hand and monies not properly accounted for and misappropiation of funds going in a different directions where it should have been going to pay pan players and those members of the pan community who need it the most in their ill health and other down trodden times. It's good to know that Panorama will be on by NCC holding the reigns to the finances and gate receipts and I hope also the Music Video sales of recorded Panorama bands which also brings in millions as well across the globe. Those monies should be kept by Governmnet through NCC who must also account for the monies as well and be able to help pay of the debts of Pan Trinbago to some extent. The ministry of Culture must also be on top of all other organizations who receive tax payers had earned cash in the form of subsidies. If not then we run a corrupted and failed State.
