I watched the Carifesta parade around the savannah and it drew my attention to an opinion that I have always thought about.
I was always an advocate of taking the parade of the bands on carnival Monday and Tuesday on the streets around the savannah. I think this would solve most if not all of the problems that occurs on those 2 days and remove the congestion that occurs in the downtown and around the city. Has this idea ever been studies and if so why was it not implemented.

I believe this suggestion was made some years ago. The objection at the time was that there was need for security around the President's house even though at that time the then President was playing mass in one of the carnival bands. If this is still the concern I wonder if the current President would consider being re-housed temporarily with the proper protection in place for that carnival week in the name of a greater national purpose.At least for a one year trial. But isn't the socadrome now relieving that congestion?
I find that the suggestion the member made in respect to the bands parading around the Savannah, is a feasible one, I do hope votes would be put to that. Thank you.
