Hello Gregory Lindsay,

WST feels now is a critical moment to highlight your voice on some key issues before the start of the Pan season, and before new ventures become ‘set in stone.’  In this regard, please find below, some questions for a write-in interview that is timely.

Thank you for your time.

When Steel Talks (WST)

www.PanOnTheNet.com

1. Who is Gregory Lindsay?

2. When and how did you first become associated with pan?

3. Laura Ingraham of Fox News told LeBron James to "Shut Up And Dribble" because he dared to step out of what she perceived as his 'lane.'  "Shut Up and play yur pan" seem to be the unmistakable message coming from the Trinidad and Tobago government, Minster Gadsby-Dolly, Pan Trinbago, the NCC, respective steelband management - to even many pan supporters - to the Panorama players. Why is this? And who is responsible?

4. Who, if anyone, really represents the interests of the steelband musicians in Trinidad and Tobago? In an unprecedented show of action -  you and others like Aquil Arrindell, Dane Gulston and others openly and publicly challenged the status quo for immediate change. The result in no short order, was the removal of the past Keith Diaz administration, and all remnants of the former Pan Trinbago executive from power.

5  Are you satisfied with the results of your endeavors? Was the goal achieved? At When Steel Talks, one of our mottos is that "One pays dearly for not knowing."

6. What do you know now, that you wish you had known, say a few years ago? And how would this have affected actions going forward as it relates to Pan?The newly-elected Pan Trinbago administration inherited many crippling disadvantages and a brand that has maybe suffered irreparable damage both locally and globally.

7. Is the newly elected executive 'tone-deaf', and singing in the wrong key?

8. Is there representation for players? Is there anyone in mind, who is responsible, intelligent, courageous and trustworthy enough to represent the concerns of the players, without conflicts of interest?

9. Why is it the players all get the part of the stick with 'doo-doo' on it?Recently the president of Pan Trinbago Beverley Ramsey-Moore was quoted as saying - "Pan Trinbago will no longer have central executive’s members as employees of the organisation." Is this a means of saving money, or is this a built-in excuse for failure for the executive - in that "you get what you pay for?" Or don't?

10. Beyond the management of "Panorama" does Pan Trinbago serve any other useful purpose for the steelbands of Trinidad and Tobago? If so what, is that?

Esteemed journalist Sharmain Baboolal, in her articles "Beverley signs up for debt: Queen of $0.00" (https://www.panonthenet.com/news/sharmain-baboolal-writes/beverley-...)  and "Pan In Real Danger" (https://www.panonthenet.com/news/sharmain-baboolal-writes/pan-in-re...)  paints a far less than rosy outlook of the new administration.

11. Do you agree with this assessment, and if so, what points specifically?

12. Given the way things have begun, might there be a need for a 'revolution' - to your recently-led revolution?

13. Do you have any additional thoughts, concerns you would like to share?

I shall provide all of the answers based on this questionaire, based on honest, transparent, time-reviewed reflection; an honest performance appraisal of this President's administration. COUNT ON IT.....Madame President...I deferred on commenting on this to give you room to maneuver as James Pan Foster would confirm. But alas you have all but completely lost my confidence...so here we go......

Respectfully submitted

  • Absolutely, essential Pan Times; it is quite a different place; however, the time that has elapsed, and the stewardship of this particular adminstration members, has highlighted objectively over the elasped period of time;  the actual conduct of the leadership, with these pointed questions presented against the background of time passed, with facts not opinion. As you well know in deference to the new administration, I deferred to allow the President of PanTrinbago a very wide berth; now is the time for me to speak against the background of your questions as a road map; the passage of time and the absolute truth

  • Hello Mr. Lindsay,

This write-interview request and its questions – are almost two and a half years old. The world is now a different place.

To be practical – with reference to all parties addressed/involved, what is more important, or more relevant is why in June 2021 – is there now a desire on your part to respond to these questions in this in part outdated interview, requested from back on January 8, 2019?
