Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - National Panorama 2013 winner (Large Band) Petrotrin Phase II Pan Groove will travel to Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, in November as part of its first prize winnings.
This announcement was made last Friday night at the Pan Trinbago 50th anniversary Panorama Prize Distribution and Awards Ceremony at the Cascadia Hotel, St Ann's.
Late in the proceedings the Trinidad and Tobago High Commissioner to Nigeria, Nyahuma Mentuhotep Obika, made the announcement during his brief remarks.
....Phase II will make the trip to Nigeria for the Abuja Carnival, which comes off from the November 24-27.
Pan Trinbago president Keith Diaz said the Chrome Group in Nigeria will sponsor the trip for Phase II.
"It will be nothing like the trip Witco Desperadoes and Courts Sound Specialists made; this one will be big," said Diaz.

Why is it anytime we hear about Pan, Pan People and Nigeria there is ALWAYS drama? just asking.
Cecil: You have to kickstart the page again. Not because PANORAMA gone PAN talk must done. When is the election coming up -- ah hope that win and that trip doh put Boogsie back in Diaz camp.
Pan Trinbago was not responsible for payment, IT WAS NIGERIA. Ah done talk............
Was Pan Trinbago responsible for giving Sound Speciallists that trip to Nigeria? On what basis may I ask? Did they win the Panorama that year? Did the Panorama Champs in their category get a trip that year to anywhere? Maybe GOD had a hand in that Nigeria payment outcome? You always get what you deserve.
Noooo. This has nothing to do with Panorama. The invitation for the two bands that went so far came from Nigeria to take part in their carnival celebrations. They listening to Panorama too and like many of us, they have their preferences. Just like a soca artiste gets an invitation to perform elsewhere, that is what took place. It could have happened to any other band. That is as much as I know.
So what you are saying is that the Nigerians choose Sound Speciallist to play in their Carnival Celebrations? Well I would be paying close attention to how others on this forrum respond to your explaination, this should be very interesting.
Shannon, tell we more, it look like you know stuff, we'll get you protection.
Weren't we just hearing on this very forum about another band running into trouble over there with their instruments being put in impound? What was with that story?
Their pans were NOT confiscated, BUT they received less than 1/4 of the money negotiated, after 5 hard weeks. PHASE II needs to do their research before accepting this "offer". Yes, the trip was highly successful, but for who? JUST ASK THE PLAYERS OF THE LAST BAND THAT WENT PLEEEEEASE, they are cautious to speak up as their manager is Pan Trinbago Secretary, Forteau. Obika has the audacity to come from Nigeria for fresh blood. Up to today's date (Feb. 27, 2013) THE PLAYERS STILL WAITING TO BE PAID THE MAJORITY OF THEIR MONEY.... But I guarantee, if they ent pay up soon, mouths will open and the "tori" will jump out.
How and Why did Sound Specialists qualify for that trip to Nigeria? Maybe GOD had a hand in the fortunes?
