The people in TRINIDAD who CONTROL THE CULTURAL DOLLARS do not have a clue about WHAT MUSIC WORKS OUTSIDE -- well ah doh want to beat that DEAD PAN SOLO HORSE AGAIN but that is RECENT EXHIBIT NUMBER ONE!!! And they still could not slow down their ARROGANCE to learn a little bit from the GLOBAL HUMILIATION.
ARROW, KEVIN LITTLE, ANDY NARELL, JONATHAN SCALES, BUSTER POINTDEXTER, MOLLEE CRAVEN -- all ah dem TAKE WE CULTURE and made names for themselves. As yet, NOT ONE TRINIDADIAN from TRINIDAD has been able to do DIDDLY SQUAT on the GLOBAL STAGE!!!
But this man have a PLAN to turn $500,000,000 GOVERNMENT DOLLARS into BILLIONS in just a few years. I could tell you that if he gets the $500,000,000 MILLION from ROWLEY he stands a better chance SHIPPING DRUGS from SOUTH AMERICA to NORTH AMERICA and EUROPE or setting up a METH LAB IN MEXICO if he really wants to talk about RETURN ON INVESTMENT.
But he certainly cannot do it with the LOCAL PAN MUSIC or SOCA or FILM or CARNIVAL PARADE!!!
Ah bettah add $200,000,000 to produce a MOVIE to my list.
Until THE TRINIDADIANS understand that they could NEVER MAKE A HIT in ANYTHING without HELP FROM THE OUTSIDE they will NEVER TAKE A STEP FORWARD into GLOBAL SUCCESS.
I have been saying that for over a decade on THIS FORUM -- but DEM LOCALS know more about the OUTSIDE than all the 500,000 EXPATS who live the experience and raised children who DOUBLY KNEW the OUTSIDE GAME as witnessed in the INTERNATIONAL PAN SOLO COMPETITION. But i understand their arrogance because I too was once lost but now I am found -- was blind but now i can look back at the island and see!!!
