So I'm hearing on the radio that panorama launching tmr at renegades pan theater and they celebrating past cultural icons Ken professor Philmore, The mighty shadow and Defosto.. all great musicans who made an amazing contribution to our country.. also all who passed in 2018.. so what I would like to know.. my late father Steve Achaiba who also passed last year... is he not recognized as a cultural icon by Pan Trinbago or this country?? Is it that his contribution to Steel pan is so minuscule that it is not recognized by Pantrinbago..? There are other questions that can also be asked as to why... but I would like to get a response from Pantrinbago president before I do.. 751-4038 Feel free to call me Ms. Moore or anyone from PT
Candace Achaiba Yesterday made it 6 months since my husband Steve Achaiba passed on. It is so sad that he spent his entire life to pave the road for pannist and arrangers of today. Because he is from San Fernando, a veteran of the 70's, an arranger who set many records in his time and as an Indian, he was forgotten by the Pan Fraternity. Steve was known as one of the pan genius. He. Was one of the many fathers of pan. My husband fought a bias and racial war in the pan fraternity and sad but now my both my son and daughter is faced with this same war. No room. We are supposed to be a cosmopolitan land.
I feel sad to know that Steve sacrificed his family life for the sake of pan. He was a perfectionist, dedicated all for the love of pan. He paved the way for many pannist and arrangers of today. Pity that Pan trinbago committee did not recognize his contribution.

Ingrid in the age of "bussfeed and Trump" you have to check everything twice and then check it again
Bugs: I’m sure there are people on the Executive Board who are able to cross check names. There is no excuse for any omissions!!
Absolutely,
I totally agree with you. Unforced errors of this nature is unacceptable.
