Last Friday, reigning Soca Monarch Aaron “Voice” St Louis announced he will not be defending his crown. He said in a release that he had new goals now, and “competing is not one of them.” He added that his biggest goal now was “to do my part to have soca become a globally-recognised genre.”
The Soca Monarch finals will take place on March 1 at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

Another SAD List of contenders. Where are all the headline acts who have multiple recordings this year... Patrice Roberts, Nadia Batson; Farmer Nappy; Shal Marshal; Skinny Fabolous... No wonder Voice said he is not entering.
I understand the BIG boys and Girls don't want to enter and as a result, the show has gone down in popularity.
FayAnn really has her work cut out for her to make this show a success and not the farce it was last year or 2017.
