Remember what de 'Professor' Philmore say - Is ArrangOrama!
The erasable Ken 'Pro' Philmore; sparked in All Stars; spectacled, named and trained in Hatters; and a fire for Finclaire; once said "...Is ArrangOrama!".
What he meant with his 'ArrangOrama' comment is very true; there are two sides to this 'PanOrama' story.
In simplicity, the two sides are: The Players and The Arranger(s).
If you don't have the 'players' to execute and perform the music; you're NOT getting anywhere.

If your 'arranger(s)' don't have the ability to properly 'spread' the music across all the 'pan voices' in the steelband; and the ability to 'imagine' a pleasing and continuously flowing 'musical' carnival-like story; you're NOT getting anywhere either.
But in the way of all of that; are the unfortunately 'mentally' confused adjudicators!
But leaving all that bacchanal alone for now; for the most part, Panorama 2023 has shown that part 1, the players, have generally all risen to the task. But as for part 2, the arrangers, well... some are demonstrably not 'there' yet; despite some considerable reputation.
And yes, the bacchanal, part 3, has arisen.
There are some steelbands in these much vaunted Medium & Large TT 2023 Semi-Finals to come, that should not even be there at all!
But we will all nevertheless, still enjoy the show.
