"My point is that there have been substantial amounts of steelband music of all genres produced over the years that have been under-exposed and under-appreciated.
I think that it would be a more manageable and achievable project if, instead of trying to do something that may be difficult to accomplish especially for logistical reasons, we use a selection process to find the best available examples of all different genres of pan music, and create a compilation album that we can promote, as a way to help develop the market for pan music.
I suppose there may be copyright issues to be addressed, but that should be easier than the logistics of creating entirely new music.
We have had compilation albums before, but without a diversity of genres, styles etc., and certainly none that has been promoted in a way that we're capable of, using today's technology."
I would like to hear from the members what their recommendations for their best compilation CD
in Classics, Panorama, PanJazz or selected artiste young or old.
I found this playlist by YouTube poster Clive Seebran, Pan on the Drag from the 70s and 80s, a cd produced with the remastered audio would be my special request.

We discussed a GREATEST HITS PANORAMA CD in great detail before. And also the idea of a POP CD with songs like Dr. Zhivago and Penny Lane.
15000 members who swear they love PAN and have all that global exposure -- we should be working on THREE PROJECTS at any given time.
But right now I am riding on the EXPAT and LOCAL train until it gets to the end of the line.
