I am very sad to know that we have come to this,having to come to the fact that the safety of the Pan performers of Despers band,which is suppose to one of the fearles band in respect to their survival,everyone in T&T knows that Despers are among the top bands if not the top band that put blood,sweat and tears along with their self confidence,but selfless contributions,thanks to the Honorable Dr Eric Williams early INTERVENTION and support to let them know and feel they belonged to society like all citizens should,and that to me that made the difference why we had unwavering contribution from Despers which I think was the benchmark setters for all the rest of steelbands and steelband players,turners and everyone who has been and will continue to be supporters and participants of the steelband movement(OUR NATIONAL PRIDE AND INVENTION)
I hope we will not have to read anymore disappointing and heartbreaking news like this anymore,it is hard enough for the steelbands to deal with a place they call their home-yard to house their pans and to do their practices,now this?!!! it has to hit home for all Trinbagoans,the citizens of T&T saftey MUST come first,or the people will have to take back the Country if even we abroad have to contribute in what ever form we can.

what a sad day. All my mothers family was born and grew up and still live in Laventille, Now he one thing that sttod out for the people of Laventille has to move due to violence, shame shame, what are our honorouble politicians doing, what are the Police force doing, or is this a ploy to get the hill, for their own agenda, what a lovely gated community that will make, with multimillion pound houses.
