Trinidad and Tobago Newsday

Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Beverley Ramsey-Moore, one of eight people contesting the post of Pan Trinbago president in the organisation's executive election on Sunday, has experienced the highs and lows of life in the steelband movement.

As manager of Petrotrin Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra in Tobago, she has transformed the once quaint Black Rock-based outfit into a household name.

Under her leadership, Katzenjammers won the Tobago Panorama titles in 2009, 2011 and 2012. The band also claimed victory in the Pan in the 21st Century competitions in 2004 and 2008.

  • "If elected, Ramsey-Moore said, her first order of business would be to amend Pan Trinbago's constitution to place the power in the hands of the membership."

Here we go again with the CHEAP POLITICS of placing power in the hands of the membership!!!

Gregory Lindsay beat that line like ah ROAD MARCH and still FORTEAU and DIAZ and SHEPPARD and JOSEPH still steal 12 MILLION DOLLARS (12,000,000$) of the MEMBERSHIP MONEY.

The membership will always be SLAVES working for the benefit of the HIGH FLYING and HIGH DRIVING and HIGH SALARYING of the EXECUTIVES and DOLLY and THE NCC!!!

Interesting perspectives. Ms Ramsey-Moore appears to be a seasoned politician using a deep knowledge as former THA Secretary to work a text-book strategic plan with finesse.
The problem is this: Steelbands need weening off direct and indirect government assistance of which Ms Moore has been a high, consistent beneficiary.
The challenge is implementing a national transformation. Unfortunately it also appears huge successes Ms Moore earned in the steelband movement was by virtue of particularly unique relationships within the state enterprise sectors as a Tobagonian.
