Scotiabank provides music platform for young panist

St. Vincent & The Grenadines, W.I. -  Eighteen- year-old Kasique Oliver (pictured at right) is well on his way to becoming a music protégé.

Apart from his trophy for winning the first ever Bank of Nova Scotia Solo Pan Clash on Sunday May 25th at Heritage Square, the Potential Steel Orchestra member will receive music lessons for one year, from local pan maestro-in-the-making Rodney Small.

Following his training, the Potential Steel Orchestra member is expected to take a musical examination from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).

  • Well done guys ...  a very well thought out and meaningful prize. It will outlive any cash prize. That way the recipient will soon be reading big scores as music literacy has to be the way forward for the next generation of pannists.
