Well summed up. Exodus started out great but the tune got very busy....lost interest.
Sliver Stars were good but there seemed to be a touch of stuff from their performance last year.
Now bands like Skiffle, Sound Setters, Harmonites and Invaders kept a listening ear in tune and alert.
I dont have a favorite band...im just for the culture and the art. Listened ALL DAY...some great music and ideas went down the track.
Will see what the finals holds.Good to see Solo back in the Bigs..!!
Bert, you seem very open can I get you impressions of All Stars
Well...wut can you say about All Stars & the Smooth Man.
For me, I thought choice of tune...but then who am I..?
Nuff respect for any band playing an arrangers original composition
but I was not at all familar with the tune....think I listened to it maybe once?
I wud have love to hear Smooth put his spin on DeFostos'
"Smooth Sailing" He would tear that apart..!!
All in all a good performance for Semis.
We will see what polishing up the finals bring.
Jahlani whether you like it or not Phase Two and Silvers Stars beat your band where is your band and if your band is in finals which I believe not you are gonna get licks. Guess the Judges didn't agree with your rite. Stop crying over spilled milk clownnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
Phase II - congrats. Late nights suit you and you came through. Just don't back off...d rest is snappin' at your heels. Invaders, I knew you sounded better last night than in years. Impressive. Michelle - you and Valley Harps deserve this...go for it all the way! (I don't mind d late-nite pan coming in my window.) Merrytones, you did DM proud!
TY AMD...after winning three years in a row, then placing 2nd and 3rd in the other two consecutive years, last years semi-final knockout was really a bitter pill to swallow...but you know what?...we re-teated to our corner, pondered, dust our pants off and came back stronger this year...I now say this unapologetically for all the Exodus and other long-faced supporters out there...the hallmark of a good winner knowing how to lose...
What we need is a “slow tempo panorama”, that way we may be able to separate the bands that play real sweet music, from the bands that play razzmatazz shallow music.
I have been saying this for years. Panorama performances a too fast to appreciate the arrangements. But you try tellin dat to a young trini dat grow up with truck music.

What we should demand is a "Groovy Panorama" competition
I am really disturbed by this "rumor" of 12 bands. If it is true then I think the other 5 bands should make an appeal as well and lets just have a 17 band Finals. There can only be 1 winner anyway
so u are saying that pan trinbago is wrong to not have exodus in the finals???? i dont think that a band's placing depends on the number of supporters they bring with them neither their popularity but in fact the proper execution of their arrangement and their performance and tone of their pans....i have no faith or trust in the judges of Trinidad and Tobago's panorama because as evrything else in Trini is who u kno an who u like....panorama is a very bias thing and that is very disappointing for a country that invented the steelpan...In my opinion panorama without Exodus is nothing bad. it just goes to show sometimes that you must not be over confident when coming to panorama and placing.
I appreciate your comments Bro...you are right about Boogsie's understanding of the instrument.....he is a genius........he has the ability to scrap down......and come back with badder music.....I do not agree with your inclusion of Despers in the speed category.......Robert music is absoutely absorbing.....takes you to a higher musical level......you should have another listen and post your comments.....
