NOW THIS IS GOING TO MASH A COUPLE CORNS.... To whom it may concern for the little pan players an lovers it have out there it has been serious hard on us all to deal with the WITML Show from years gone by. As a player myself it is tuff to practice months an come to play for less that 500 persons at times, we have sucked it up an pretty much delt with everything that we have come across in years b4 an after said event. Now yes we claim pan is a part of our Grenadian Culture but NOTHING and I say NOTHING cause nothing is being done to PROMOTE STEEL PAN. The said show put out money for advertisements an you/we hear it on ah day to day bases but NOTHING NOT A FLYER A POSTER OR RADIO AD about what the Steel Bands of Grenada is bringing. I say this to say that person would get interested in the art form if they only knew what the bands where going to be playing on that night. Having it on ONE radio station with a certain announcer is not enough. Now in 2014 we are yet faced with the challenge of going against 2 MAJOR shows on the SAME night... AS A LOVER AN PLAYER OF PAN I PUT THIS TO THE RELEVANT PERSON OR PERSONS PLEASE DO MORE FOR OUR ART FORM CAUSE IT IS SLOWLY DYING OUT.

IF YOU ARE A PAN LOVER I KNOW YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND WHERE I COME FRM ..
COME ON PAN PEOPLE TIME TO SPEAK UP!!! KEEP THE PAN ALIVE!!!!

  • THANKS.  Glad you at least put out your views of the situation, Zavid.

Wish I was there to be supportive.  There are some great bands in Grenada.

Keep trying to motivate others to organize for more respect and enjoyment of pan.

  • Sorry to hear this Zavid.
