  • Thank you, great word! For some reason, STRANGER, is my head after listening to a CD of his favourites. Look fwd to the discussion on Dingolay.
  • Mighty Shadow - Dingolay

  • Sad is hardly the word to describe how I feel.
Mighty Shadow, Dr. Winston Bailey, one of our Philosophers. I would have liked to hear his commentary on receiving an honorary doctorate from UWI. He did not make the day, he must have said, lemme go, yes! I love his lyrics, melodies, and how he thought inclusively. YOUNG LADIES, OLD LADIES, EVERYBODY COULD DINGOLAY, even if you are poor!
Gratitude for the legacy you left us. Condolences to family and Friends, particularly his son, who follows in his footsteps.
    • Very interesting comment, Ayesha. The fact that you have singled out DINGOLAY!!! You and I will have to discuss that CALYPSO one day under a different POSTING.

How about DISCONSOLATE instead of SAD?

  • My first memory of Shadow was a J'ouvert with Fonclaire playing "the Threat" aka "Water in your Eye" on Coffee St. Pan alone on the road in those days. I also recall Antillean All Stars playing "Baseman From Hell" and Curepe Scherzando with a wonderful version of "I come out to Play"
