Steel AppealShelbyville, Indiana, USA - The Shelby County Public Library presents Steel Appeal on July 27 from 6-7 p.m. on the front lawn. Steel Appeal, a steel drum band from Campbellsville, will present an exciting musical experience that will feature music from around the world. The group will present topics that include history and evolution of the steel drum, manufacturing, tuning, performance techniques, and musical concepts such as rhythm, tempo, melody, harmony, timbre, forms, and dynamics. Popular musical styles associated with steel band performance will be addressed and performed. Volunteers will be invited to play along, and the program is for all ages!
