I am a steelband man who has been around steelbands since I was 12 years old. The whole pan scene has changed and the young ones today are focusing on winning or going to finals whereas when I was coming up, all us young players just wanted to go to the savannah for prelims and be seen behind a pan. But that is not the issue at hand.

Apparently, one of the present adjudicators by the name of, JUDITH HOWARD, expressed her bias in a public setting among strangers unaware of some of individuals' allegence. JUDITH HOWARD, emphatically claimed that if she had anything to do with it that Mr. Len " Boogsie" Sharpe would NEVER win a Panorama.

Bias is part of the human condition and we all possess it.I have biases towards some the music that some arrangers do but if I was an adjudicator, I would not be so overt, blatant and open as to make such a statement lest I excuse myself from sitting on any panel where I have to judge someones music who I am biased against or biased for. Who knows if their are other arrangers who might be on her "Black List".

As steelbandmen, do you think that this judge should be allowed to adjudicate any other events?

  •  A judge should maintain and enforce high standards of conduct and should personally observe those standards, so that the integrity and independence of the judiciary may be preserved. This judge should not be allowed to adjudicate any other Panorama events, PERIOD.
