These so called judges have strong ties to the north bands . The only way to change this is to bring in international judges. The outlook on Skiffle is youthful both in players and the three NY based arrangers and it was mind boggling when and very disappointed when they got the results . Until we continue to have the same people running the pan body we will not see any changes . How could you be a judge in the finals and be seen playing mad in Despers and All Stars. Let the young people take charge of the movement and spread the joy .
South and Tobago bands need to have a panorama. Seems like the judges don't consider them, however, I can't complain too much this year. Skiffle was my sentimental favorite.

Cecil, I thought that Junior Regrello's statements in the post-performance interviews were RIGHT ON POINT -- SPOT ON!!! As was his PREDICTION. But the person who gave me the quote of the night was Arddin Herbert. Somewhere down the line I will address Arddin's statement.

PANORAMA NIGHT I was on the WST CHAT with a bunch of people I had never met before. There was no Cecil or Glenroy or Bede or Patrick Ramdoo or nobody like that. Dem fellahs were in another chat somewhere and Cecil Hinkson did not even invite me. But the new chatters were nice and friendly and civilized and some of them had played in BIG BANDS before. It was a joyful crowd and the banter was hot and heavy. We had a real hard time picking the winner and thought that a 8-way tie might be appropriate. Now there was one guy on there whom I called the JUDGE because he did a very informed and extensive critique after every performance. I wanted to cut and paste his postings but the lime was too sweet to WORK and the liquor was flowing too fast.
In the end we decided that SKIFFLE had the best performance of the night followed by LIAM and AMRIT. Towards the final part of the night some DESPERS FAN come on touting DESPERS but we took him as a joke. Needless to say that we were all speechless when the final results were announced.
