This Bryon Serrette, vice president of Pan Trinbago is a real "class act" - make that "CRASS"! Not only is he on record as the proud person behind the Pan Splash Pool crap at the semi finals on Sunday, but now he refers to the Saturday gig of small bands and medium bands as a "dress rehearsal" for the Sunday semi finals. Since Saturday is Small and Singlepan bands, I am assuming he said 'medium' in error or was misquoted because the medium and large people are on Sunday.
This is the quote from the Trinidad Guardian
Pan Trinbago vice-president Bryon Serrette said they will be using tomorrow’s small and medium bands semi-finals as a dress rehearsal for Sunday. “The weekend of Panorama semi-finals actually starts on Saturday, so we ought to be well ready on Sunday, having already gone through Saturday’s exercise.”

REALLY!!? If I was a leader of any of these bands, especially the more established ones I would be outraged as having my band's efforts being seen, used, and referred to as a 'dress rehearsal' for the bigger boys!
So - here come single pan and small steel orchestras, to give it their best shot for the finals, and arrogant Mr. Serrette, VP of Pan Trinbago looks at them as 'fodder' by calling them a 'dress rehearsal' for Sunday? What on earth is going on in this guy's head with respect to pan and pan people?
Wait - don't answer that.

PanTrinbago never seems to be ready for anything that interest Panorama fans. Tell them to get ready for next year Panorama as of Ash Wednesday and they wouldn't know where to start. They are getting people fedup with the viewing/listening process of Panorama. You have to seach high and low and call around to know where to listen or view Panorama events. You go to their website and they have outdated stuff and no history of all the steelbands in Trinbago. All Pan people can not come to the savannah, so supply the best source of media for us even if we have to pay for it. Thanks WST without you we will be at a great lost for all the sweet pan music from from single pan to large bands will go to waste. You should attend all PanTrinbago meeting to help them improve their media and public services.
If Mr Serrette is quoted correctly,he owes the single pans and small bands a huge apology.Small in size may not necessarily mean less in terms of music quality or playing ability.
Obviously he erred, but an apology? Geez! A non-issue.
Patrick,I don't know if you were at the savannah for the single and small bands pelims,to see what was in place for the bands that were scheduled to perform. The staging area was inadequately planned and managed, with vehicles moving about and tents erected in what should have been thoroughfares for bands to access the Eastern top of the track.A non issue you say,but those who had to move their bands from the North Eastern end of the staging area, certainly had issues with the buses, trailers, tents and vendors that formed the obstacle course.
