The Billboard charting is tallied from cumulative sales of the album, as recorded by Nielsen SoundScan, the largest monitor of commercial music sales in North America. The compilation also peaked at #3 on the iTunes U.S. Reggae Top Albums chart, #3 on the iTunes Canada World/Reggae Top Albums chart, and #10 on the iTunes U.K. Reggae Top Albums chart. Additionally, it boasts the top three winning tracks “Ola” by Olatunji (capturing the Groovy Soca Monarch crown), “My House” by Farmer Nappy and “Vagabond” by Ricardo Drue, which were the top three respectively at the International Groovy Soca Monarch Competition held in Port of Spain, Trinidad on Friday, February 13, known as Fantastic Friday. Olatunji’s “Ola” also placed third in the annual Road March competition held on Carnival Tuesday, which culminated the 2015 Trinidad Carnival season.

Curated by Rhona Fox and Zack Cohen, owners of FOX FUSE, this collection is their mission of propelling Caribbean music globally, in motion. “We simply selected some of our favorites from this season from the exciting FOX FUSE catalog,” reveals Fox. “Some are major hits and some are lesser-known tracks that we believe in, and we’re so thrilled fans appreciated the overall collection and look forward to releasing many more.” Cohen adds, “The Billboard charting means our respective clients are now Billboard chart-toppers and we are grateful for this mainstream exposure for their talents and productions.”

Get Soca 2015 is now available worldwide from all major digital retailers (released on Carnival Tuesday – February 17, 2015), from FOX FUSE. Please direct all media inquiries to the FOX FUSE Publicity Department at 212-300-3813 or contact@foxfuse.com.

  • As usual, we are reactionary people, back in the mid 80's through the 90's when soca had a distinct sound, we sat back and let it slide into the mumbo-jumbo that they now label as soca. Had we done the right thing and market ourselves like everyone else does, then we would not be having this discussion right now. To be honest, the stuff they call soca, is in the true sense, not, so let them label it however they feel.

  • I have found that many international listings include soca music in the reggae catalogs. As a matter of fact , there are reggae compilations that include soca tunes.

Personally ,I do not have a problem with that ,since like DJ said , Billboard doesn't chart Soca, so if I have a problem its probably with our inability to have soca charted on Billboard.

And besides , I much rather seeing soca listed under "reggae" ; at least its from the Caribbean.

Consider it payback from the days the Jamaicans used to call their music "Calypso".

And BTW , I may be the only one , but I hate our music being classified as "World music".

I consider that genre as a musical ghetto for indigenous music that cannot be classified.

    • AMEN. I agree with you 100%. Just like itunes lame attempt to add soca... which is hidden in d broader "World" category along with Irish bagpipe music.

  • FOX FUSE seems to be FOXing conFUSE.

Like Shadow said "Dey doh kno wat dey doing"

    • I see this post while looking for new Soca online and I hadda say something because Oswald Alexander you are jus another example of one my fellow West Indians being ignorant. BILLBOARD does not even have ah Soca chart. From what I see Foxfuse is the only company pushing Soca international. Even when Bunji album came out last year he said it hadda go on d Reggae chart cause that is all there is for W.I. music (non W.I people does put all Caribbean music into d Reggae category).... Long story short, as Trinis and West Indians, we should be happy that a album with the word "SOCA" in d title is charting anywhere on a mainstream chart (also shows that they does know is Soca and not Reggae). Soca Gold by VP is d same thing cause is also on Reggae billboard.

So stop studying what is wrong with what they, Bunji, and VP doing, and go find out why Billboard doesnt feel to add a Soca chart!  Because what you saying right now is that this SOCA and other soca albums should not be on a international chart at all. And that boi is some real dunce thinking.

      • DJ Puncheon....."So stop studying what is wrong with what they, Bunji, and VP doing, and go find out why Billboard doesnt feel to add a Soca chart!"......herein lies your answer...I am not the one making the money to push a brand, but you want, ME, the unpaid,to approach Billboard to get the answers....Really?

        DJ,this is FoxFuse boast
