As most of you remember, THE CIP spent the last year on THIS FORUM predicting VICTORY over KEITH DIAZ. All the STEELBAND LEADERS had to do was to sign their names on that piece of paper and KEITH DIAZ will be out in the streets driving taxi.
Today, THE CIP is voiceless -- any virtually memberless!!! The organization now consists of only two people: Oswald Alexander and Aquil Arrindell. Meanwhile, KEITH DIAZ is being congratulated by COLIN and DOLLY for his MASTERFUL running of PANORAMA 2018; I even hear there is talk of giving him a NATIONAL AWARD.
It is 8 months before the 2018 PAN TRINBAGO PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION and I am sure that THE CIP will come back to the forum telling tall tales about their campaign to oust KEITH DIAZ. But those of us who understand THE GREATEST POLITICIAN IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD know that PRESIDENT DIAZ has the power to HOLD or NOT HOLD an election at the "appointed" time. As the Minister of Culture and the judge pointed out: KEITH DIAZ has ABSOLUTE JURISDICTION over PAN TRINBAGO!!!
Now this is all VERY SAD in a way!!! Because it means that any hope for PAN PROGRESS in THE MECCA is stalled until an effective and visionary administration takes charge of PAN TRINBAGO. And you have to be blind and deaf to NOT REALIZE how AMERICA has taken the REINS of the STEELBAND with the will and the brains and the organizational skills and the collaboration and the educational systems to make THIS COUNTRY the MAKKAH OF STEELBAND.
