The Socadrome will continue to feature as part of the Carnival Monday and Tuesday parade in Port-of-Spain.
However, the bands that utilise the facility may still cross the Queen’s Park Savannah stage on those days.
Kenny DeSilva, Chairman of the National Carnival Commission (NCC), told Looptt that there is a loose arrangement between some of the big bands and his organisation for them to cross the Savannah stage on Carnival Monday and on Carnival Tuesday afternoon.
He said there will be talks after Carnival aout the role of the Socadrome in the future.
Dean Ackin, bandleader of Tribe, confirmed that they have been in talks with the NCC.
“Once time and space permits we will go to the Savannah. Only if time and space permits. If we aren’t able to get to the Savannah because of circumstances beyond our control we won’t go. If time and space permits and the parade route is clear we will go,” he said.
