Starting in October, Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras (GCTYO) students will be able to audition to form string quartets and receive weekly private instruction from a Stamford Symphony musician. The chamber program for beginner and intermediate level students is part of a new partnership between the Stamford Symphony and the GCTYO.
“At GCTYO, we are determined to give our students the best music experience possible,” said Christopher Hisey, Music Director at GCTYO in a press release. “I believe this new partnership and program will open the door for our students and give them new perspectives as they learn from the coaches from Stamford Symphony. We cannot wait to get started this October.”
Nicolas Gonzalez, Community Engagement and Education Manager at Stamford Symphony said, "GCTYO does not only focus on orchestras but so many different opportunities like steelpan drumming and chamber music for kids around Greenwich to Bridgeport. We are excited for this partnership."
