In a 2017 it is a major challenge to write, compose and produce a "song for pan" knowing that soca music gets all the air play by extension popularity.
When you get a calypso queen title holder, the likes of Joanne Foster who knows how to execute pan songs, to sing your song, it is a major accomplishment. When people try to take that from you through dishonesty to advance themselves, it is sad!
Tunapuna Tipica did this to me by submitting Don Clarke as the composer for my song "The Magic" announced by Mr Edison Carr at Sunday's major event: Panorama Semi-Finals, knowing fully well that I am the composer. They also probably had that false information written on their banner.
Things to consider that shows this was no mistake:
1) Don Clarke announced his retirement openly
2) I visited Tunapuna Tipica for the prelims and was acknowledged
3) I spoke with the arranger Mr Harold Headley and he introduced me to the players
4) I submitted a CD to them with my name/vocalist name to the manager of the band
They had the song as "Pan Magic" on this site when told that the correct name of the song they selected is "The Magic".
It wasn't in your best interest to do these things. You could have used me to get Joanne to come to the yard and perform the song to boost the moral of the players/band etc.
Tunapuna Tipica in future if you are disorganized about your business please take up a phone and call fro get your information correct. What you did was wrong and unacceptable!!
