STEVE (SIDD) sees the future of "PAN MUSIC"

In a very recent post Steve (Sidd) outlined the process of capturing the sounds of the steeldrums electronically and offering them on a modern platform which can be used in any studio anywhere in the world reproducing the sounds of the steeldrums with almost 100% fidelity -- THE REAL TING. Steve went on to explain that after the sounds are captured digitally the user (musician) can then manipulate each note individually. For example, adjustments can be made to prolong the notes while the notes remain essentially acoustic. In other words, the electronic notes can be massaged in various forms and fashions to rectify the shortcomings of the original ACOUSTIC PAN.

This is a picture that had formed in my mind ever since I saw the PHI and the EPAN and INDIGISOUNDS arrive on the scene. So I was thrilled to hear someone else echo it with specific details.

Now, here is the KICKER. It is just a matter of time before some bored or opportunistic musician (or fame seeker) sits down in his home studio in America or Germany and produces a CD using this new platform to introduce "PERFECT PAN MUSIC"  which the world will embrace like a warm  tropical breeze.

Another Andrew Sisters or Buster Pointdexter gaining INTERNATIONAL FAME with WE TING.
