  • On August 13, 1992, then Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Mr. Patrick Manning declared the steelpan to be the national musical instrument of Trinidad and Tobago, (Trinbago). To date, that declaration is yet to be an Act of Parliament in the country of its creation. There is no legal protection for the national instrument. Yet, the steelpan, the only instrument created in the 20th century, continues to improve and it is in demand throughout the Caribbean and the world.

WE NEED THE ACT OF PARLIMENT TO FACILLATE OUR NATIONAL INSTRUMENT, NOT LIP SERVICE.
