Can any body tell me which is the 1st Arranger to introduce Minor in Major Panorama Calypso? What I mean is that the Arranger play the Major Calypso and them add as an arrangement by playing that Calypso in Minor, just curious

I think it was Earl Rodney. When he won in 1968 with the Harmonites playing "The Wrecker" by Kitchener he used a minor key in one of the jam sections. Also fun fact he fielded 210 players that year. Now the limit is 100 I think.
There's a short minor jam right before the final chorus of Harmonites "Man in a Pajama Suit", arranged by Knolly Bobb in '66... I'm not convinced it's the first though.
Pajama Suit was Harmonites or Ebonites? Although they may have become Harmonites after.
I thought Ebonites and Harmonites were separate, at least in the early to mid 60s. I wasn't aware of a connection but they're both Morvant bands...
It was definitely Harmonites. They started in '62, but I think '66 was the first year they came out for the Panorama.
My guess is Bobby Mohammed...
Noah, can u recall what tune it was? I don't think it was before 1969 tho
Sixty Seven has a minor variation...
It might be even After 1969, I did not know much or play any tunes between 1970 to 1998,(I was out of it) I came to this Country in 1969 started to work with the Army and Air force Exchange as a Civilian and did not go back home for Carnival till then,
This is something I would like my friend Ian Franklin to research, aye Ian, talk to me
