Pan Trinbago in my opinion has to metamorphosize, as it just cannot continue in its present form and structure, it's terms of reference must change. It's composition and purpose has to be expanded.
the TADPOLE must go through a process of metamorphosis and become a FROG, and not continue, or be expected to become a bigger, and mature tadpole, as a bigger and mature tadpole has no future, it serves no purpose or usefulness in the puddle where it was spawned, as the puddle will eventually dry up to the demise of the tadpole.
It may be expedient to document and share the failures of Diaz and Pan Trinbago, but it was bound to happen regardless of who was in charge, because the tadpole that is Pan Trinbago was only becoming a bigger tadpole and not a frog. `
As the form and structure of the tadpole changes with time, the metamorphosed frog now becomes a hunter, and is no longer sustained by sucking the nutrients in it's immediate surroundings for its survival as a tadpole does. The frog has different feeding habits to the former tadpole, its diet changes, it seeks out prey as necessary.
I am sure that there are persons who identify with The CIP with the capacity to ensure that metamorphosis that Pan Trinbago must go through to become relevant in a global environment. Many of the initiatives that were listed as failed, may be as a result of A tadpole attempting to BE a frog. Frogs eat ants, if tadpoles attempt to eat ants the ants will kill them, and eventually eat them.
That is the analogy I can present to simplify what may be happening to Pan Trinbago, what has happened at 14-17 Park Street, and I do not see The CIP advocating for, or making strides towards contributing significantly in any way towards effecting the change necessary anytime in the near future.

I am high on reason wrapped in common sense, lit with a stick of knowledge, struck on a box of some training and experience. A high that is not easily acquired or bought from an itinerant pusher-man, like one's taste for fine dry wine. My deceased mother (RIP Mammy), always pounded in my head that common sense is the least common of all the senses, a sense if you were in possession of, tempered with some humility, and a burning desire to learn, and to genuinely serve, and not "tuh gallery yuhself as a jefe in town", may have allowed you to survive your tenure in office.
You were obviously defeated by your ego, which accounts for nothing without knowledge, tact and strategy in a competitive, hostile, political environment. Always bear in mind that the sum of nepotism and favoritism has never been equal to suitability or efficiency, and continued calculating using the formula currently employed shall always produce an incorrect answer.
You still may not have understood what your purpose in the steel band movement is. If I were to apply the analogy to you, you continue to swim around in an increasingly shrinking puddle believing that you are a MATURE TADPOLE, and fail to realize that you are actually A FROG, and need adopt the habits of A FROG.
As I wrote previously, it is my heartfelt opinion that you are an extremely talented person, with an extremely important contribution to make. I do not believe that you still deserve to be called a young man anymore as you may have already crossed that threshold. You need to start seeing yourself as a MAN, A MATURE PERSON, as much man as all male homosapiens you may desire to emulate. You need to step up your game, and stop being dependent on anyone for support before you go forward, in the manner that you prostituted yourself before a global audience, unable to intelligently engage me, considering it necessary to solicit "laughs" from members of this forum who may have been opposed to the sitting PRO, I still consider your actions petit and shallow, and will condesendingly respond, until sincere objectivity rears its head, as i shall never consider myself Dale Carnegie.

Ricardo: Very profound posting!!! But I would go a little further to mention that PAN TRINBAGO lacks the ability, the global vision and the human resources to lead.
I doubt that you can go to Trinidad and interview 1.3 million people and find TWO who would agree that we are almost at the point where "we can’t control the gates or be caused to be locked out with no chance of getting in". That is not the way they see it and if they cannot recognize THE PROBLEM -- they certainly CANNOT acknowledge or correct the PROBLEM.
So how are they going to solve it!!!

now I can tell you the said person not calling to stroke my ego, and really have no reason to call me at all really...for that......Why then...of all the people to be called for that particular request...he decide to call me, especially after I freely and lucidly expressed to the said individual in no uncertain terms exactly a week ago, how conflicted they were and further to that, how exposed that said individual was. How that same individual a week later,...making such a request, I can only term that the proclivities of his behaviour in this regard as....foreign...and strange....in that regard.

I was ten years old in 1979.....and my deceased dad was 41 in 1979, from an experiential standpoint we went to Panorama Prelims that year, like we always did.....then the only thing I remembered after that was Despers crossing the stage on one of the Carnival days, having been in the Grand Stand both days with my grandparents with Cousins as we watched the Parade of the Bands
There is much for me to learn still,...as well as much as I have already learnt and read along the way. I do not profess to know any and everything,... If I don't know, I make inquiries and set about to find out from referred sources...that's me....my methodology may be a bit different, grounded in principles passed on from my ancestors..... But I claim that and as always open to new learning and most of all listening...... And not waiting to talk... Like most people who say dey hearing do.
.,I always try my best to be on the right side of things,,that is the side for me, that best represents the community I was CHOSEN to serve best. It was never ever my plan to ever put myself up for any position within the steel band movement,..even at band level....far less at regional or national level. Not that I haven't been asked.
..But For the simple reason, that from what I have seen and experienced as to what runs as par for the course of the political climate of leadership and governance of the world governing body, to me, it is self deprecating towards self-serving rather than servant leadership
Russell J C Providence, in particular offered me some advice very very early on....I am seeing that those pearls of wisdom imparted, are now blossoming in the fullness of the context of our current challenges from within the advocacy, with promises delayed to promises denied,.....as Chairmen cross swords at least two sword lengths apart.....to see who pee could reach the farthest..
A promise is a great comfort to a fool,......and I don't plan on being anyone's fool...
