All this talk about PAN TRINBAGO debt and bankruptcy is WAY OFF THE MARK. Some years ago THE RIGHT HONOURABLE KEITH DIAZ floated an idea for a STEELPAN LOTTERY which is really a brilliant idea if placed in the right hands -- not his hands of course, as he was hoping.
But THE NATIONAL LOTTERY BOARD could add a NEW GAME. For example, THE STEELPAN DAILY 3; and proceeds from that game could go to CLEAR THE PAN TRINBAGO DEBT.
They could make the game very attractive by paying back out a little more than most lotteries do. For example they could cut back on the TOP PRIZE of the three straight numbers and share some of the payout with a small kickback for TWO numbers out of THREE.
Thousands of EXPATS living all over the world continuously send money back home to family. So there could be an appeal to that group to send an EXTRA $5 or $10 for the family to buy a few STEELPAN DAILY 3 TICKETS.
In a few years the WHOLE DEBT CLEAR and they could stop the program if they like after that.
That Keith Diaz is a real POLITICAL GENIUS; I don't know why they want to replace that man and put BEVERLEY RAMSEY in POWER.
Anyway, whatever they do (The new Aquil Arrindell administration) -- they should find a way to get FOREIGN DOLLARS coming in to TRINIDAD specifically into the coffers of PAN TRINBAGO. There are TOO MANY PAN LOVERS around the world NOT to be selling PAN RELATED PRODUCTS TO THEM.
I still cannot understand why they CANNOT produce some GLOBAL QUALITY PAN MUSIC so that EXPATS and FOREIGN PAN LOVERS could start buying up the PRODUCT and giving PAN added marketing around THE GLOBE.
