PAN LOVERS and CALYPSO LOVERS from around the world are in the greatest position to contribute to the progress of PAN and CALYPSO MUSIC GLOBALLY. Computer systems did not gain world domination until they became INTEGRATED. So it is IMPERATIVE that the PAN LOVERS (Spelled: E-X-P-A-T-S) around the world join forces and exchange ideas and work together to move OUR CULTURE forward. The chasm between LOCALS and EXPATS has to be BRIDGED -- whatever the EGOTISTICAL COST.
All these DEATH NOTICES and SICK NOTICES and BIRTHDAY NOTICES and SENTIMENTAL JOURNEYS back to the SIXTIES AND SEVENTIES should TAKE A REST and give priority to the GLOBAL ACCEPTANCE of PAN and CALYPSO MUSIC.
The emergence of the BORDERS FESTIVAL gives me a little hope. The PARANG SOCA CD lifted my spirits but the concept needed much more thought than was put into it. The LOCALS just got to wake up one day and realize that there are HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of EXPATS globally who are HUNGRY FOR CULTURE.
That is the REAL MARKET. Nobody in TRINIDAD has the MUSICAL SKILLS to make music for FOREIGN MARKETS -- whatever DREAMS they may entertain. The SKILLS are GROSSLY LACKING across the board.
And since I am in this mode -- the 60's and 70's eh coming back!!! So let us think 2017- 2030!!!
