Chalky said it years ago in "Kaiso Gettin Horn" they repeatin pure pure nonsense. I have said it on numerous occasions on this forum. Now Charlie , of Charlie's Records in Brooklyn has come out and said it (See Features Trinidad Guardian 2nd Jan 2010) http://guardian.co.tt/features/entertainment/2010/01/02/we-need-new-direction Perhaps band wagoners would like to join us in expressing the sentiment, Soca is in the doldrums it needs direction. I would go so far as to say that the majority of these so called composers are musically challenged. I am not saying that music must not develope but I am saying "IT IS NOT MUSIC". The drivel that is being pushed out should not , I repeat NOT be given air time. How many of the following songs would really stand the test of time? “Pong It” sung by Carwash - “Musical Fire” sung by Anslem Douglas “Pandemic” sung by ‘Shanaqua’ - “Pan in De Mas” sung by ‘David Rudder’ “Pan and Calypso” sung by ‘Crazy’ Young Arrangers - “Breakdown” sung by Keith ‘Designer’ Prescott “Rewind” sung by Destra Garcia “Wild and Free” sung by Kadeem “Rasta Grammy” Alleyne “PowPow, DoiDoi (Bad Boy)” sung by Mark Roberts “Pan in D Land” sung by Hayden Lynch Large is Large” sung by Crazy “Time” sung by Keith ‘Designer Prescott “Out on the Greens” sung by K.V. Charles “Somewhere in Tobago” sung by Steve Sealy “Trinbago Ting” sung by Chucky “Flash” sung by Frosty Brooks “Two Sticks in Meh Hand” sung by Percil Nock-Boyce “Scratch Attack” sung by Crazy - “Pan Revolution” sung by Gia Telesford “You Too Hot” sung by Xposer “Pan Pushers” sung by Xposer “Lava Coming Down” sung by Eddie Charles “Ah Love Meh Pan” sung by Crazy “Surrender” sung by Destra Garcia “Something Special” sung by Derrick Seales “Battle Zone” sung by Anslem Douglas - “Lightning Strikes Twice” sung by Eunice Peters “Spreading Hands” sung by ‘Oscar Benjamin’ “De Last Band” sung by Peter D’Royce “Music In My Ear” sung by Keith ‘Designer’ Prescott “When Steel Talks” sung by Crazy “Pan Injustice” sung by ‘Tunapuna Scanty’ “Smooth Sailing” sung by DeFosto “Pan on Fire” sung by DeFosto For Carnival - sung by Crazy I would suggest only a few, if any. Please Please Trinbago wake up go back to music school, learn, then put it into practise. Personally I can't stand Reggae but I have to agree with Mr Rawlston Charles. Reggae can accompany almost any thing. o please let us make a New Year's resolution. To give the music of TnT a new sense of direction Randisc
