Pan Times / When Steel Talks; We at S.N.S.E, former Panam North Stars surviving members, are to believe that, Pan Times / When Steel Talks is dedicated to pan world wide, it is and initiative designed to promote the "History" and culture of the "Steel Pan / Steel Band" globally, is it not? if this so, Y are U defending "Leroy Gordon" erroneous dates and misinformation? (1). Dates; Mr. Gordon said Panam North Stars visited "Antigua" in 1960, WRONG...we were never their in 1960, I joined North Stars January 1958 on the road side, our Stage Side started coming together by 1960, it took us one year to have all the piston's oiled and fireing, after carnival in 1961 we were told that the 1962 Music festival is on the horizon, we started prepairing with a piece by a local composer "John Donaldson" called "Boca Chimes" our next attempt was "Angel Serenade" by Shubert, the next piece was "Humerous" by Bizet, and later after the 1962 carnival, "Voices of Spring" by Johann Strauss, we won the 1962 Musical Festival on April 16th, where the test piece were "People of the Island" by Umilta Mc Shine, for the Quater and Semi finals and the final test piece was "West Indian Serenade" by Hugh Goodridge", we got the Pan American Airways sponsorship two months later, therefore we could not be in "Antigua" in 1960 as Pan am North Stars... (2). Miss information; Pan am North Stars visited "Antigua" October 1963 while on tour through the West Indies, when we played in "Antigua" I guess Mr. Gordon did not see our "Triple Cellos" as it was invisible, Mr. Gordon also said that he saw the "Invaders" Steel Band when they first visited "Antigua" in 1965 and they was the first band to have "Cello Pans", what Mr Gordon did'nt know is that North Stars had "Cello Pans" since 1952, where Anthony Williams had made and played them in TASPO 1951, see TASPO photos as documented evidence, and (3). the Hell Gate's STEEL ORCHESTRA 70 year Anniversary, I do not know, how anyone can celebrate a 70th Steel Orchestra anniversay from 1945, when no steel pan musical instruments or "Ping Pong" was available to anyone out side of TRINIDAD until 1947, "Leroy Gordon" U R two years short of your 70th anniversary...

Mr. Jordon if Mr. Gordons dates are in error or cannot be corroborated as it relates to North Stars, the appropriate notes and changes will be made. We believe Antigua historians and Pan community are also interested in having correct data.
