A few years ago I spent a few days at a 5 Star resort in Jamaica attending my niece wedding, the LIVEentertainment was out of this world I saw Dennis Brown and Michael Jackson performing their hit songs, ah had to slap meh self in meh face to come back to REALITY!
Now, if I was THE PRESIDENT OF PAN TRINBAGO. I would contact WILSON JEAN-BAPTISTE and make him an offer. The offer would be for PAN TRINBAGO & TRINIDAD to come up with a GLOBAL MARKETING PLAN (PAN TRINBAGO has the PLATFORM and CULTURAL CAPITAL to make that OUTREACH very easy) for HIS ACT and have him go around the world SHOWCASING THE PAN. This is an UNBEATABLE GLOBAL PAN ACT. So BEVERLEY doh have to LOOK NO FURTHER!!!
ONE CAVEAT!!! I would have him take a YOUNG TRINIDAD PLAYER on tour with him and develop the LOCAL MUSIC STAR (notice I did not say PAN STAR as I usually do -- because he will be learning from a MASTER MUSICIAN) while they are ON TOUR -- with the objective of THE LOCAL MUSIC STAR taking over the role after about 5 years of TOURING.
And by the way, I am reading some nonsense with people wondering if there is really a GLOBAL MARKET for PAN MUSIC. Well, let me put it this way: IF a SCIENTIST could clone ANDY NARELL into TEN ANDY NARELLS -- everyone of those TEN ANDY NARELLS would still have to TURN DOWN JOBS for their appearances ALL OVER THE WORLD.
So it is time for TRINIDAD to TAKE THE BULL BY THE HORNS and start SHOWCASING this PAN MUSIC -- WORLDWIDE!!!
Of all the formats above -- I like the WILSON JEAN-BAPTISTE ACT the most because of its COMMERCIAL NATURE and PLUG-IN formula that I have suggested earlier on THIS FORUM!!!
